Corrugated Board
Types of boards
Types of mediums
The medium is the fluted corrugated board that is sandwiched between the linerboards. It is the medium that gives the corrugated board its rigidity and crushing strength. Different flutes are used for various packing and storage purposes.
At 30 - 36 flutes per 30cm, these flutes have the highest arch height thereby providing the most cushioning and stacking properties for fragile items.
Used for:
- double wall application
- thick corrugation pads
Primarily used for canned goods packaging, the B-flute provides the second highest arch size at about 44 - 50 flutes per 30cm and has good stacking strength and crushing resistance.
Used for:
- packaging of food
- packaging machine parts
- packaging retail
- die-cut
- customized print packaging
This is the most commonly used corrugated box flute. At 36 - 42 flutes per 30cm, the all purpose C-flute provides good cushioning, stacking and printing properties.
Used for:
- shipping cartons
- corrugated box displays
- packaging of glass products
- packaging of furniture
The second most commonly used corrugated box. At 86 - 94 flutes per 30cm, E-flutes are an environmentally friendly substitute packaging. E-flutes
have a greater crush resistance while its flat surface allows for high quality printing. It’s thin board profile reduces other box dimensions and can help to save storage space.
Used for:
- printed box packaging
- retail packaging
- eco-friendly packaging
Another environmentally friendly substitute packaging which has between 124 – 132 flutes per 30cm.
Used for:
- customized printed and corrugated boxes
- retail packaging
Corrugated Cartons
A corrugated carton is a box made of corrugated board and is used for the packaging of goods to be stored or transported.
The strength of the corrugated carton depends on the type of medium used as well as the board style.

Pallets
A pallet is a form of tertiary packaging that is a flat structure used as a base for easy storage and transportation of goods in the supply chain.
Paper Pallets
Unlike the traditional wooden pallets, paper pallets are constructed using high grammage corrugated boards. Compared to the traditional wooden pallets, paper pallets are lightweight thereby making them easier to handle and cost less when shipping internationally. Paper pallets are also able to withstand a heavier load and are easily recyclable.
Composite Plastic Pallets
The best of all worlds, composite plastic pallets are high in strength, reusable and cost effective. They are highly configurable, have a good strength to weight ratio, do not splinter, deform or require fumigation.
Due to their non-contaminative smooth surface, composite plastic pallets can be used in clean room environments and are free from pest infestation.
